Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals with Bow are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines essential terms, conditions, insurance specifics, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Bow Car Hire, you must be at least 21 years old, although specific age restrictions may apply based on the vehicle type, with extra fees for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of current address. You will need to provide valid payment details and a security deposit, as well as meet any additional criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments
- Bookings can be conveniently made via our website, over the phone, or in person at our Dartford office. To confirm your reservation, a booking deposit may be required. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is typically collected at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept a range of major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment platforms.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and must be signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition it was collected, accounting for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as it was provided; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra charges, so notify us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You will be liable for any parking violations, traffic fines, or charges incurred during the rental, including an administrative fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- Basic third-party insurance is included with every rental from Bow Car Hire. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to mitigate your financial responsibility. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage applies. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms is your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and modification policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period given. Please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for accurate information. Be aware that cancellations made too late or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or similar risky pursuits is prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is strictly forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle is to be used only for its intended purposes, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Any travel outside designated geographical areas requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Liability Limitations for Bow Car Hire
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Bow Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, nor for any loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts.
10. Terms Modifications
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect once posted on our website. Continued use of our services signifies your acceptance of the revisions.
