All vehicle rentals with Bow's Car Hire are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Bow Car Hire, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type. A valid driving licence, appropriate for the chosen vehicle category, is required, along with valid identification and proof of address. Payment details and a security deposit must also be provided, in addition to any further requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations for Bow's car hire services can be made via our website, by phone, or directly at our Dartford office. A booking deposit may be necessary to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance and security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All rates are quoted in British Pounds (£) and inclusive of applicable VAT. We accept major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment processors.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, please conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and must be signed. It is imperative to return the vehicle in the same condition as when it was collected, accounting only for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at pick-up; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra charges, so contact us promptly if you anticipate a delay. You are responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during the rental period, alongside a small administrative fee.
5. Liability and Coverage
- All car rentals from Bow include basic third-party insurance as standard. Comprehensive coverage information, including excess amounts, is outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options are available to mitigate your financial exposure. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess unless enhanced coverage is purchased. Responsibility for damages resulting from negligence or misuse rests with you, regardless of insurance provisions.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and modification policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For detailed information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges, impacting your overall rental experience.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Vehicle
- Use of Bow vehicles is strictly prohibited for any illegal activities, including but not limited to racing, off-roading, or similar dangerous ventures. Transportation of hazardous materials, sub-letting to unauthorized individuals, or permitting unapproved drivers is not allowed. Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding specified passenger or weight capacities, and driving outside predetermined geographical boundaries without authorization are also prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Bow Car Hire disclaims responsibility for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may arise from your use of our services. Our liability for any claims is limited to the total amount paid for your rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Legal Framework
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Updates to Terms
